A wide-ranging collection of letters from or to John Andrews, John Eliot, William Barrell, David Ramsay, Samuel Miller, Ezra Stiles, Eliphalet Nott, Cotton Mather, Andrew Eliot, and many others. About one-third of the collection consists of the letters of Bostonian John Andrews to his brother-in-law William Barrell of Philadelphia from 1771 to 1776, with accounts of the growing rebellion against British rule. An account of two Indians written by Susannah Rawson in 1715 is also included.
