Bradley family papers, 1721-1775.

This collection consists of photocopies of a sales account book, 1753-1755; a letter from Thomas Burrington to Isaac Young, 1759, reporting on the affairs of William Bradley, Sr., in Georgia; a letter from Jane Barnard to William Bradley, Jr., n.d., mentioning the death of her brother; and a letter from Martha Young to Elizabeth Bradley, concerning her father's affairs. Also in this collection are papers of Caleb Davis relating to his complaint, such as his petition and remonstrance regarding his treatment at the hands of civil and military authorities in Georgia.

William Bradley (ca. 1695-1767) married Elizabeth Dean on February 17, 1716 in London, England. He was sent to Georgia by the colony's Trustees in England in order to teach agriculture to the colonists. He arrived in 1736; in 1740 he left for South Carolina to avoid settling his account. He soon returned to England. His daughter Jane (ca. 1723-1794) married Captain John Barnard of the Georgia Rangers, and his daughter Martha (ca. 1721-1795) married Isaac Young.
