Letter, 1790 Aug. 8 to an unknown correspondent, concerns Samuel Allyne Otis's mistake in calculating Bassett's "allowance" as a U.S. Senator. Otis, a Massachusetts native, was the first Secretary of the U. S. Senate. -- Also an unfilled printed document, signed by Bassett as Governor of Delaware, licensing a public house of entertainment, and the selling of "strong liquors" there and also signed by Abraham Ridgely, Secretary of the State of Delaware.
