Interview with Frank A. Hoke, a banker and attorney, who discusses his experiences as an employee in the Dallas Regional Office of the Home Owners' Loan Corporation during the New Deal. He also talks about mortgage buying, loan amortization, insurance, home improvements, accounting procedures, politics and patronage, taxes and appraising, foreclosures, and loan servicing.

The Home Owners' Loan Corporation began business on July 17, 1933 and allowed people who had mortgages with private lenders to apply for a loan from the government in order to pay off their mortgage with private lenders.
