Seventy-six autograph letters from Cosimo III, son of Ferdinand II, to Anton Francesco Montauti, envoy to the imperial court in Vienna, some partly in cipher, not in chronological order, one 1695, most 1696, one 1698, several 1708. This volume is related to a larger collection of Montauti diplomatic correspondence (UPenn Ms. Codex 531, 533-538 and Ms. Coll. 180), some of which was purchased at a later date. Copy of contemporary key to the cipher is shelved with Ms. Codex 531.
