As part of his work on a catalogue raisonneĢ of the etchings of John Marin, Zigrosser contacted Charles Bittinger. Bittinger had been a comrade of Marin's in Paris in the early days. Bittinger, in turn, invites Zigrosser to visit him for a detailed interview.
