Historian, journalist and educator. He attended the University of Illinois where he earned a B. A. 1912 and an M. A. in English, 1913. George Kennan (1845-1924), American journalist and author, was best-known for his writings on Russia. In 1865 he was sent to Siberia as part of a surveying party to find a route for a telegraph line to connect Europe and America.
