Included are role books for the following parts: Arthur Gérard; Maurice d'Alberton; Paul Meunier; Richard de Courbière; Pierre Rénaud; Joseph, Kellner; Polizei-Commissär; Ernst Marteau; Coralie; Zephire; Fauvette; Rose; Taupin; Pichet; Rouget; Jacques Rènaud; Bernard; Oberkellner/Kellner; erste/zweite Dame; ein Herr/ein anderer Herr/ein alter Herr; Vaillant; Habile; Astuce; Mathé; Vater Guillaume; and erste/zweite Savoyarde (the published copy lists several additional characters). Although the rehearsal materials are undated, the role books bear the names of the actors and actresses assigned the roles, and some names are recognizable from the casts of other German-language plays performed in Philadelphia in the late 1870s to late 1880s (the collection's holdings of theater newspapers and playbills do not, however, include any mention of this play).
