The correspondence in part concerns the Pan-European movement, including a copy of the "Declaration of European Inter-Dependence" issued by the Pan-European Conference in New York in March of 1945 (Franz Werfel was among the signers); a letter of 1956 includes, as an enclosure, a typescript of a speech entitled "Deutschland zwischen Paris und Moskau" which Coudenhove-Kalergi held at Heidelberg University. In 1945, 1 letter concerns American war relief efforts for Austria; and a carbon copy of 1 letter from Coudenhove-Kalergi addressed to James Riddleberger, Chief of the Central European Division for the U.S. State Department (a copy of which he sent to Alma Mahler), concerns Coudenhove-Kalergi's request to Riddleberger to expedite the forwarding of a letter by Alma Mahler to her attorney in Vienna.
