Reminiscenses of Leopold Stokowski, Nov. 1976 [sound recording].

Reminiscenses recorded by Robert Gross and sent to Oliver Daniel. Gross remembers his first meeting with Stokowski in Sept. 1931 for rehearsals for the dedication of the new Juilliard buiding in New York, and performing Robert Russell Bennett's Abraham Lincoln Symphony. He discusses touring with the All-American Youth Orchestra in 1940 and 1941; recording with Stokowski; and playing for the New York City Symphony. He also describes a concert with Stokowski in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He mentions Bernard Herrmann, Roy Harris, Carol Truax, and many members of the All-American Youth Orchestra. He also tells anecdotes about Dorothy Brett and her portraits of Stokowski; Mabel Dodge Luhan; the poet Robinson Jeffers; Lillian de la Torre Bueno McCue; and Ansel Adams.
