Fjeldstad describes the occasion in Oslo at which Stokowski first heard him conduct; the concert of Norwegian composers at Carnegie Hall in 1954, at which he and Stokowski shared the podium, and a visit to Stokowski and Gloria Vanderbilt's home; Stokowski's visit to Norway and appearance as a guest conductor to the Oslo Philharmonic Orchestra in the 1960s and his rehearsals for that concert; and Stokowski's unusual seating arrangement for his orchestra. He mentions Klaus Egge, Harald Saeverud, and Kristian Lange.
