Graffman discusses the one performance he did with Stokowski as soloist, in MacDowell's concerto in D minor, in a New York Philarmonic concert of music by composers associated with Columbia University, describing the experience of rehearsing and performing with Stokowski. He also recalls going to Philadelphia Orchestra concerts while growing up and mentions that Stokowski sometimes hired Graffman's father to supplement his orchestra while he was conducting at the City Center. He mentions Skitch and Ruth Henderson.
