Halász discusses Stokowski's trip to Havana to conduct the Havana Philharmonic Orchestra, mentioning conductor Erich Kleiber; he recalls meeting Stokowski in 1945 near the time when Stokowski founded the New York City Symphony. He also discusses Stokowski's plans to perform William Grant Stills' opera The Troubled Island; and differences Stokowski had with Birgit Nilsson when Stokowski conducted Turandot.
