Papers of Abigail Fithian Halsey include stories, pageants, historical writings, plays, poems, programs, pamphlets, photos, clippings and other items. Much of the collection relates to historical pageants and plays written or directed by Halsey and her writings in Cornell University Extension Bulletins promoting the use of pageants. Organizations which sponsored pageants or programs include the Dairymen's League Cooperative Association, the Heckscher Foundation for Children, City History Club of New York, the New York State Federation of Women's Clubs and other civic or cultural organizations or churches in Southampton, Sag Harbor, East Hampton, Riverhead, Ithaca, Kingston and Tappan, N.Y. and Cincinnati, Ohio. A few items relate to Shinnecock Indians in Southampton, and the Women's Community Building and the Tompkins County Fair in Ithaca, N.Y.
