Sayre family papers, 1835-1978.

A logbook kept by Francis Sayre 3rd of Southampton on a whaling voyage aboard the ship Roanoake out of Greenport, Long Island, New York, 1836-1837, with accounts and loose notes to 1841, relating to conveying passengers from the island of St. Helena to the United States. Also clippings and genealogical notes on the Sayre family, a postcard of the old Sayre house in Southampton, and correspondence about the collection.
