Letters include correspondence between Alice and her parents while she attended the Troy Female Seminary, 1862-1865; letters from Charles to his parents and sister while at school in Haverford, 1865-1868; letters to John and Mary on their marriage, 1843; letters to Mary Wood from family and friends, 1866-1905, including condolences on the deaths of John and Alice; letters between John and Mary, 1869 and undated; letters from Alice's husband Randolf Runyan to John and Mary Wood concerning Alice's health and other family news, 1874-1884; and a letter from John Wood to his brother Henry Wood concerning cholera in East Brooklyn, 1849. Other items include Alice's school essays, 1862-1865; miscellaneous cancelled checks, agreements, business papers, bills, and clippings; and the genealogy of the Wood family.
