Papers of Cobbett consist of thirty-three letters to his friend Henry Hunt (1773-1835), English radical reformer and political orator, pertaining to their common political and agricultural interests, 1809-1829; two manuscript addresses by Cobbett; and other miscellaneous correspondence. Other items in the collection include a photocopy of an account of Cobbett's life by his daughter Anne Cobbett, ca. 1824; letter of John Waller, 1868, concerning Cobbett letters for sale; advertisement for one of Cobbett's publications, 1825; brochures from the museum in England owning Cobbett's possessions, 1967-1975; articles on Cobbett and his letters at the Rutgers University Library, 1951-1957; correspondence of several of his great-grandchildren concerning his life, 1970-1973; and his published pamphlets.
