Papers consist primarily of correspondence with Franklin D. Roosevelt, 1913-1945, concerning postmaster appointments in New York State, Roosevelt's various campaigns, New York State political matters during Roosevelt's terms as Governor, and requests for political offices during Roosevelt's presidency as well as some personal and political issues. Other correspondence concerns the candidacy of Martin H. Glynn for Governor of New York in 1914; recommendations for Rogers for the position of Federal Judge, 1919; correspondence with Winfield A. Huppuch of Hudson Falls, N.Y., pertaining to New York State politics; and correspondence with W. Forbes Morgan, Secretary of the Democratic National Committee, 1932-1936, concerning campaign contributions and Jackson Day dinners.

Franklin Delano Roosevelt was born on January 30, 1882, in Hyde Park, New York. He was the son of James (lawyer, financier) and Sara (Delano) Roosevelt.
