Photographs documenting a zoological research expedition to western Mexico involving study and classification of a variety of animals. Photographs show crew members, their ship THE PURITAN, map of the expedition route, and dredging of coastal waters. Animals shown are a whale, porpoises, elephant seals, sea lions, terns, shrimps, and a boa constrictor. Locations include Baja California and Magdalena Bay. Scientists included William K. Emerson, Richard Van Gelder, Richard Zweifel, and Donald R. Squires. Photographs were taken by Van Gelder, Emerson, and Squires. Photographs are identified.
