Very extensive collection of photographs and illustrations used for publications. Photographs portray Museum and expedition personnel, exhibit halls, expeditions worldwide, and scientific photographs emphasizing particular aspects of specimens such as skulls. Largest series of photographs are those of expeditions worldwide, especially the Archbold Expeditions. Photographs portray the collecting locality and habitat, aerial views, botany, bird and mammal specimens, and expedition members. Forms of photographs are prints, slides, lantern slides, movie film, and microfilm. Published photographs of mammals clipped from magazines serve as a reference tool.
