Two albums containing photographs, 1906, showing streets and buildings, including Metropolitan Life's Pacific Coast Head Office building in San Francisco, that were destroyed during the 1906 earthquake; and a scrapbook containing clippings of articles about the earthquake, 1906, and letters and telegrams between F.F. Taylor, Assistant Secretary of the Pacific Coast office, and Haley Fiske, President of Metropolitan Life, and others in the New York Home Office, in which the earthquake and problems relating to insurance are discussed at length. A set of glass doorknobs that were melted in the fire that followed the earthquake are included. Also, three albums of photographs showing interior and exterior scenes at the Pacific Coast Head Office in San Francisco, Calif., 1909-1922.
