Papers pertaining to W.H.D. Blake include his business card; business letters and shipping bills from his position as agent for Homer Ramsdell & Company, 1873; manuscript copy of his letter of resignation from Homer Ramsdell & Company, 1873; and a letter from his brother John P.M. Blake concerning the death of a horse after surgery and difficulties getting hired help, 1873. Papers pertaining to Alfred B. Blake consist of personal letters received from his father, his brother William C., and others concerning traveling and life in the American West, family news, boot camp training, purchase of a tractor, and farming and snowstorms in New Paltz, 1916-1920, and a letter from John Haynes Holmes concerning Blake's response to Holmes' negative opinion of farmers, 1933. Other items include school papers and drawings by Matilda and Alfred Blake, 1899-1900 and undated.
