Collection consist of papers, reference material, and photographs of modern artists, American and international. D.W. Griffith's papers document his film career. Records of the Museum encompass curators' correspondence and research material. Papers of some administrators, trustees, and donors. Scrapbooks document the Museum's circulating exhibitions and history; tape recordings of lectures and symposia sponsored by the Museum. Collections span 1872 to 1983; most are from the 1930s to 1970s.
