The Professional Staff Congress (American Federation of Teachers, Local 2234) is the union representing faculty and other professional and technical staff at the City University of New York. It was formed in 1972 as a result of the merger of two predecessor organizations in the CUNY system, the United Federation of College Teachers and the Legislative Conference.
