Records regarding membership in the Academy encompass lists of members, beginning in 1837; annual directories which include lists of officers, affiliated societies and their officers, and directories of active members, 1867-1879, 1907-1930; and membership lists, 1959-1972; announcements and postcards of meetings and lectures, 1876-1892, 1942-1949; and material from regular meetings, 1895-1941. Correspondence and other material regarding nominations for membership and officers, ballots, officers' lists, biographical sketches; correspondence concerning annual receptions, exhibits and meetings; working papers for annual meetings; and minutes of annual meetings and the Annual Meeting Committee, including a summary of each year's events with listings for conferences held and status of members, 1942-1967. Minutes provide names of members and their specialties, summary of papers given at programs and business aspects of membership meetings.
