Records pertaining to history and repair of ships owned by the Museum, including PEKING, a German four-masted cargo carrier built in 1911; PIONEER, an iron cargo schooner built in 1885; ANDREW FLETCHER, a sidewheel paddle boat modeled after turn of the century excursion boats and built in 1985; LETTIE G. HOWARD, a wooden fishing schooner built in Massachusetts in 1893; AMBROSE, a lightship built in 1908; MAJOR GENERAL WILLIAM H. HART, a steam ferry built in 1925; and CHARLES COOPER, a packet ship built in 1856 and currently lying in the Falkland Islands. Reports about the history of the vessels and recommendations, specifications, and drawings for repair work; articles, survey reports, photographs, correspondence, press releases, and news clippings related to numerous aspects of the ships; papers for the PEKING including Lloyd's register of shipping and crew lists, 1911; text for film; material about exhibits concerning the ships; and photocopy of logbook of the CHARLES COOPER, 1862.
