Correspondence, financial records, legal papers, and miscellaneous items concerning business and family affairs. Correspondence, 1834-1961, includes business letters to Brush, 1836-ca. 1872, concerning supply of malts, whiskey, and grains, financial arrangement, Whig politics and difficulties stemming from Brush's occupation, planks and fencing for the railroad, buying cattle, legal cases, testimonials to Brush's mineral spring water, and land transactions; family letters from his wife and daughter Emma; letters from Luther Bradish, his guardian, concerning property and financial matters, politics, the merits of daughters and sons, and social life in Saratoga Springs, 1834-1842; and a letter from Susan A. Brush concerning these papers, 1961. Financial records include accounts, receipts, orders, and a bank book for 1834-1835. Legal papers include deeds, mortgages, estate papers, contracts, and farm tenant agreements, 1829-1925. Other items include typescript copy of a speech by Brush on liberty and Ireland; manuscript fragments of poems by Brush; 1812 assessment roll for the Town of Moira; and field book to lots in Town of Moira surveyed by Potter Goff, 1817. Some papers pertain to Brush's son, Henry Corbin Brush, and to St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Brushton.
