Tapes include radio shows, lectures, oral histories, and events, all relating to the Bronx. Of note are oral histories with the Barry Sisters; Stanley Friedman, Bronx County Democratic leader, 1981; and Stanley Simon, Bronx Borough President. Also, tape of a dinner program for Bronx Borough President James J. Lyons, 1962; a lecture by Theodore Kazimiroff on "The Rise and Fall of the Hemlock Forest" at the New York Botanical Garden, 1977 ; a lecture by Ronald Schleissman on canoeing in the Bronx; and the Bronx County Historical Society radio series OUT OF THE PAST, ca.1965-1985, on Bronx history.

Dr. Theodore Kazimiroff (1914-1980), a dentist and amateur archeologist, served as Bronx Historian (1953-1980). He helped found the Bronx County Historical Society in 1955 and was its first president.
