Correspondence, memoranda, transcripts of deed records, map tracings, copies of Board of Estimate resolutions, research notes, and other materials relating to property in Queens which is owned by the City of New York. Included is information on how the city acquired the property, name of the former owner, applicable zoning restrictions, references to maps covering the property and filed at the Topographical Bureau, Topographical Bureau reports on petitions for the city to acquire the property, and files on release of the city's interest in the property. Property involved encompasses courthouses, buildings, and areas under jurisdiction of Department of Sanitation, Department of Water Supply, Gas, and Electricity, Fire Department, Department of Parks, and Board of Education. In addition, libraries, Municipal Airport at North Beach (now La Guardia Airport), police districts, and some roads are illustrated. Details on land acquisition by the city and determination of zoning restrictions are provided.
