Primarily business papers, many pertaining to publishing, including rental leases, insurance policies, author agreements, papers relating to Lyman Cobb's school books and to book written about Thomas Jefferson, copyright notices, receipts, and financial papers, 1847-1865. Real estate papers comprised of deeds, mortgages, bills and receipts, correspondence, court documents regarding litigation and other material for Lefferts Park and another area in Brooklyn, West Flushing in Queens, Paterson and Elizabeth in New Jersey, and Coldwater, Michigan, 1836-1860. Riker's personal papers consist of letters from his daughter, 1840-1852; news clippings and certificates. Other documents relate to a court case involving Riker's creditors and promissory notes.
