Papers and sketches, 1891-1920.

Series includes sketches of Flushing with accompanying notes or identifications of the sketches, and news clippings focusing on Flushing history. A folio contains wood engravings of the Old West and famous political figures which were not produced by Sugden, dated 1906. Two diaries bear entries concerning Sugden's relationship with Flushing Historical Society, 1904-1908. Sugden also maintained a collection of 38 autographs of prominent individuals, 1891. Collection includes five scrapbooks compiled to foster observance of Memorial Day honoring Civil War and World War I veterans, containing news clippings, photographs, announcements, and pictures from magazines, ca. 1909-1920.
