Encompasses a wide variety of material pertaining to numerous fund raising activities of United Negro College Fund (UNCF) in corporate, private, and foundation sectors. Material includes extensive correspondence, fund raising appeals, reports, brochures and other publications, studies, agendas for meetings, campaign summaries, reports of contributions, lists of donors and prospects, and files on numerous teas, luncheons, and symposia sponsored by UNCF to educate the public. Records pertaining to foundation appeals include proposals and documentation for foundation gifts, transmittals, schedules, and evaluations of special awards, 1968-1980. Other records document two capital campaigns and the Men's and Women's Divisions and National Campaign Director, 1943-1980. Also, extensive information about corporate philanthropy, role of key industrial leaders and researchers such as Margaret Mead and Kenneth Clark, and fund raising techniques and results.
