Correspondence, bills, promissory notes, receipts, accounts, memoranda, papers pertaining to the dissolution of the partnership, and others. Series 1 is composed of those papers which do not involve the War of 1812 or the military personnel stationed at Plattsburgh. Series 2 is comprised of papers of the same types which do involve military personnel, and, in addition, papers pertaining to claims against the U.S. government resulting from the Battle of Plattsburgh and the quartering of troops in the Plattsburgh area, including claims for debts and damages, orders to the paymaster, military credit authorizations, draft of a petition and Congressional bills, affidavits, letters, and other papers relative to attempts by Bailey & Delord and their heirs to collect from the government.
