Records include annual reports and minutes of the Maritime College and its predecessor institutions; the schoolships ST. MARY'S and NEWPORT; and the New York State Nautical School. Also included are the logs of the schoolships and the subsequent training vessels EMPIRE STATE I, II, III, IV, and EMPIRE STATE; biographical information of students, faculty, and superintendents of the facility; regulations and laws; programs, catalogs, miscellaneous publications concerning the school, the Parent Association, Alumni Association, the National Society of Pershing Rifles, the Propellor Club, Yacht Club, U.S. Maritime Service Institute, and Steamboat Historical Society of America. There are also approximately 2,000 photographs of the school, training ships, and the students, 1874-1985.
