Papers relating to Nicholas Covenhoven include a 1777 petition to General Howe for payment of horses seized on Long Island, an account book which lists the amounts advanced to American prisoners and other loans and bonds. Also included are accounts kept by his son, John N. Covenhoven of fishing income, 1790-1804; and a listing of following receipts: George Covenhoven to Nicholas Groenendyck, Nicholas Covenhoven to Johannis Remsen and William Kouwenhoven for a slave, and Nicholas Covenhoven's purchase of a horse.
