Lantern slide and glass negative collection, [ca.1880]-1943, 1900-1925 (bulk)

Lantern slides, many colored, used in movie theaters to advertise coming features or other announcements, or used by private companies to advertise products in the theater. Some are of cartoons, others are story characters. One series advertises films made at Astoria Studios, 1915-1943, and another contains songs. Some slides are home-made and written by hand, others are professionally prepared. Slides are identified.
