Photograph collection, 1911-1984, 1960-1979 (bulk)

Majority are black and white, but also color prints of many aspects of Brooklyn Botanic Garden. Some of the subjects include Bonsai, Children's Garden, Conservatory, Cranford Rose Garden, Japanese Hill-and-Pond , Ryoanji Garden, the three outreach stations (Clark Memorial Garden, Kitchawan Field Station, and Teatown Lake Reservation), staff, and special events. Some prints have associated negatives or contact sheets. Many photographs are identified, but few are dated. Photographs from 1911-1923 are duplicates of Buhle photographs. Many illustrate construction of the gardens.

The idea of Forsythia Day was spurred by Mrs. Edward C. Blum to plant forsythias to enhance the beauty of Brooklyn.
