New York motion picture industry oral history project, 1963-1985, 1979-1985 (bulk)

Interviews with people involved in professions associated with the motion picture industry in New York City, especially those pertaining to Astoria Studios. Some of the founders of Astoria Motion Picture and Television Foundation are interviewed. Professions include directors, producers, screen writers, cameramen, business agents, electricians, songwriters, casting directors, editors, actors, artists, songwriters, costume designers, projectionists, and propmen. Some of the interviews deal with the Astoria Studios during the time it was the Army Pictorial Center, others are interviews with people associated with recent pictures such as JUST TELL ME WHAT YOU WANT, and WOLFEN. A few interviewees are members of the union of motion picture craftsmen. Some people were interviewed by staff members of the museum, and many interviews have been transcribed, 1963-1981. Also video tapes of interviews with Sylvia Sidney, 1985, and Rouben Mamoulian, 1984.
