John E. Bierhardt photography collection, 1897-1903.

Approximately 400 photographs and glass negatives of an amateur photographer depicting a variety of subjects, including nature scenes of places throughout Onondaga County, N.Y., such as Solvay, Jamesville, Dorwin Springs and Onondaga Creek in Onondaga, Nine Mile Creek in Marcellus, Elmwood Park and Butternut Creek in Syracuse, Edwards Falls in Manlius, New York. Also, outings of the Syracuse Camera Club; homes in Onondaga County, N.Y., including interiors; horse racing at Kirk Park; the New York State Fair; a parade of the International Order of the Good Templars organization in Syracuse, N.Y.; a camping trip to the Adirondack Mountains; deer hunting; teachers from the Franklin School in Syracuse, N.Y.; and friends and family. Many of the photographs were taken during the winter months.
