The H. Prior King Scrapbooks contain newspaper clippings, mainly about politics and government in Glens Falls and Warren County, New York. There is also material on legal matters including crime, articles regarding Union College, the Masons, and billiards. Some obituaries are included. There is also section of one scrapbook devoted to pinochle from 1899-1918. Volume 1, covers the years from 1873-1918; Volume 2, from 1903-1909.

Hesden Prior King (1853-1935) was a Glens Falls attorney, member of the Warren County Bar Association, a graduate of Union College, and active in Glens Falls Lodge No. 121 of the Masons. He was born in Warrensburg, New York, May 17, 1853. He marred Annie Cowles and they had two daughters, Jane R. and Minerva R. Jane served on the staff of Crandall Library for more than fifty years.
