The volume of records of the Associated Charities of Glens Falls mainly contain the minutes of monthly business meetings and annual reports. The minutes recorded the mission of the Associated Charities, provided the names of officers and names of donors of financial assistance and goods, as well as the names of families and individuals deemed to be in need. Individual cases are described in some detail. Each year it was the responsibility of the Secretary to prepare a report describing the social problems the Associated Charities encountered: unemployment, tuberculosis, disease, blindness, problems of old age, alcoholism, desertion, nonsupport of families, homelessness, abuse, and neglect of children.

William Little Lee (1821-1857) of Sandy Hill and Charles Reed Bishop (1822-1915) of Glens Falls traveled to Hawaii in 1846 and settled there. A lawyer by training, Lee became an advisor to the King of Hawaii and a judge. Lee died in Honolulu in 1857. Bishop served as Collector General of Customs for Hawaii and later helped found a bank in Honolulu. He married Princess Bernice Pauahi Paki in 1850.
