Christopher Street Liberation Day Committee records, 1970-1979, 1973-1974 (bulk).

The collection covers the years 1970 to 1979 and contains financial records, press releases, Christopher Street Liberation Day Committee calendars, minutes, questionnaires, leaflets, and correspondence. Three audiotapes include recordings of two Gay Activists Alliance (GAA) meetings, one of which passed a motion to censure GAA President Jim Owles. Another tape is of GAA's appearance on the Dick Cavett Show in 1970. Some material on the Christopher Street Festival Committee is also included.

The Christopher Street Liberation Day Committee was the original organizer, starting in 1970, of the New York Gay Pride March and Rally. At first a committee of representatives from various organizations, they later became fully independent. They continued to be the organizers until replaced by Heritage of Pride in 1984.
