Papers, 1925-1976.

While some materials deal purely with the University of Cambridge or with his own Department of Engineering, there is much concerning engineering education in general and the promotion of the profession. Of most interest are the extensive papers, plans, reports and photographs relating to Lord Baker's wartime work on the Scientific Advisory Committee of the Ministry of Works where he was responsible for air-raid precautions, including the strengthening of structures and erection of "Morrison" and other shelters that saved many lives.
