Physicist and mathematician. Burhop (1911-1980) taught mathematics and physics from 1945 at University College, London and was Professor of Physics 1960-1978. He worked on the Manhattan Project, USA 1945-1950, won the Lenin Peace Prize 1972 and was President, World Federation of Scientific Workers 1971-1980.
