The collection consists of documents regarding the work of a chemistry professor at Iowa State University and researcher at the Ames Laboratory. The papers contain his research and reprints of articles relating to physical chemistry, in particular mass spectroscopy. The collection also includes materials Dr. Svec amassed in preparation for writing a history of the Department of Chemistry at Iowa State University, including oral history interviews with other professors.
