Marie Fuhriman Olsen, of Providence City, was born October 19, 1925. After graduating from high school, she attended Utah State University (USU) and then served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She married Blaine Olsen on January 15, 1948. Olsen returned to USU to complete her bachelor's degree in 1976 and soon began working toward an MA in Sociology.
