ADS, [1708] : Boston.

Mather refers to some students at one of the colleges in Boston by saying: "several gentlemen ... took the liberties of sitting up whole nights, or near so, at the game of cards; with a tankard of punch, to support the exercise." One of the students referred to was Timothy Cutler, who later went on to become one of the best preachers in the colonies and the Rector of Yale.
