Description: Clyde A. Bowman was born in Prescott, Wisconsin in 1887. He first came to Stout as a student and received further training at Columbia University. Following teaching positions at Stillwater and Stevens Point, he returned to Stout in 1919 as the first dean of Industrial Education. Even after his retirement in 1953, Clyde Bowman was a national leader in industrial education and is credited with making Stout well-known in this field. In addition he was acting president of Stout in 1923. Bowman died in 1981. Most of this collection contains publications and speeches of Bowman during his tenure as a faculty member at Stout. The collection also includes correspondence and newspaper articles.
