The Dublin (N.H.) suit : Edward F. Abbot, et. al. vs. William F. Bridge, et. al., 1856-1860.

Papers concerning a suit brought by a newly-formed congregation and its minister against the established church society and town of Dublin, N.H. The claimants argued that the First Congregational Society, having espoused Unitarian doctrines, was not to be identified with the church society named as legatee in the will of Rev. Edward Sprague, who left money for its support in 1817, and that the new Trinitarian Congregational Society deserved to benefit under the original provisions of the will. The collection includes answers to interrogatories filed by residents of Dublin, which shed light on the prevailing mode of worship in a small N.E. town of the mid-nineteenth century. Includes Abbot et. al. vs. Bridge et. al., Exceptions to the answers of the town of Dublin, filed 1856 Nov. 17. With publications of the N.H. Supreme Judicial Court on the suit.
