Correspondence and drafts of manuscripts comprise the bulk of the collection. The papers for the three novels (two published and one incomplete) are in various stages of corrections. Also included are poems and short stories, some of which were published.

Helen Rich was born in Sauk Centre, Minnesota on August 9, 1894. She studied to be a teacher, but became a newspaper reporter. After being wrongly diagnosed with tuberculosis, she moved to Colorado for her health and worked as the first woman reporter for the Colorado Springs Telegraph. Rich freelanced across the country and in France. With a friend, she bought an old car and travelled west to Colorado Springs. B. Williamsport, PA, June 12, 1907. Attended Williamsport Dickinson Seminary, Albright College and Evangelical Theological Seminary. Moved to Colorado in 1948. Held pastorates in Ordway and Denver, Colo. until he became pastor of the Father Dyer United Methodist Church in Breckenridge, Colo.
